Setback for Bore Option.
Our lock set bore is set to 2-3/8” setback.

When your door arrives expect the following...
Each solid wood Timberlake door will be unique to all others. There will always be differences in the grain of the wood. Variation occurs from tree to tree.  The components of the door brought together as one solid door will be one of a kind,  your own personal door.   Wood fibers do take on moisture and do release moisture relative to the air around them.  This results in a natural occurrence of expansion and contraction.  This is kept at a minimum with wood that has been properly cut and dried.  The separate components of styles, rails and panels are connected in such a way to allow the fibers to breathe without interfering with the stability of the door.  This is what we refer to as engineered construction.  There may be some very small nail holes that will need to be filled and sanded before finishing your door.  The nails were put there to hold areas that were glued together.

All of our Timberlake doors come with black sealant oozing from the glass. (Photo right). This is a complete back bed of butyl to prevent water from penetrating the door. It takes ~ 3 dry days to set up and cure .  Please do not handle or touch the sealant if it is not completely cured.  The over abundance of sealant provides protection from water leakage.  The extra can later be cut off at a right angle with a razor blade.  It is most important that you leave some (how much? 1/16 inch) protruding beyond the wood.

On a door that is pre-bored for a lockset and dead bolt, there will always be some bore  fragmentation.  This appears as splintering around the perimeter of the bore. In all cases, the splintering is covered by a lock escutcheon.  (Photo left)
